Tarik has been acting since the age of ten. Beginning as a principle in more than 30 national commercials. During this time he began getting roles on television and film, guest starring in a role on LAW AND ORDER and appearing on screen with Meryl Streep in MUSIC OF THE HEART. In 2005 he booked a major role on ONE LIFE TO LIVE, recurring for little over a year as the ultra preppy character Hudson Prescott, for which he received his first dose in notoriety.

After more Guest star roles on shows such as BLUE BLOODS and ABC's FOREVER he became determined to continue growing as an artist. From this determination he began writing screenplays. In 2012 SUPPORTING CHARACTERS, a film he co-wrote/starred in with Daniel Schechter, made its way to the forefront of the Tribeca Film Festival. SC sold out all four shows. And Tarik's character Darryl Wiggins an ambitious editor in the midst of a rocky relationship was hailed in the New York Times, Hollywood Reporter and a list of other notable publications.

From his early success in the world of independent films he continued acting in a slew of other indies including AVA'S POSSESSIONS, LITTLE PARADISE, NO BEAST SO FIERCE, CUSTODY and most notably WHIPLASH. WHIPLASH quickly became the talk of the town winning Sundance film Festival's Audience and Grand Jury award and ultimately winning three Academy awards.

Today, Tarik can currently be seen recurring on two hit shows at the same time. OUTSIDERS (WGN) and MAJOR CRIMES (TNT). On OUTSIDERS he plays James, a tough nearly broken ex coal miner, out of work and opportunity he makes some questionable decisions in the face of survival. On MAJOR CRIMES he appears as Reverend Daniel Price, an accused ex cop killer who has changed his life around to become a community activist, with a congregation over two thousand strong.

One thing is for certain, Tarik's talent for acting and playing extremely versatile characters with depth will continue to bring audiences into his heart. He is without a doubt one of the more exciting actors to watch for on screen. We'll be seeing this man for quite some time.
